Convertible bonds provide a hybrid solution for investors looking to have a balanced exposure to financial markets and deliver returns that compound with low volatility over time. In conjunction with our integrated ESG analysis and quality bias the RWC Sustainable Convertibles Fund has been built to provide consistent returns for risk conscious investors wanting to incorporate ESG into their portfolio.
No investment strategy or risk management technique can guarantee returns or eliminate risks in any market environment.
With more than $15 trillion in government bonds now trading with negative yields and credit spreads at historically tight levels, risk-conscious investors may feel that they have few areas of opportunity that do not come at the expense of materially adding risk. Yet we believe that a lower-volatility convertible strategy can help investors to preserve capital while still seeking returns and offering diversification benefits. In fact, our RWC Sustainable Convertibles Fund is built with a quality bias and ESG awareness; by emphasizing convertible bonds with moderate equity sensitivity and controlling for risk, we have generated a long-term track record with a high Sharpe ratio.
